#SampleSunday guest post by Ian Roberts - Two freebies AND one 99c bargain!

This week's #SampleSunday guest author is Ian Roberts, author of Old Bones, Henry and Isaac and To the End of the Trail. If you missed last week's guest post from Julia Hughes, you catch up here.

Ian has had a remarkably varied career from teaching and lecturing to a stint as a croupier. He's a history graduate from the University of Warwick, and that breadth of experience is evident in his writing.

Henry and Isaac, and To the End of the Trail are westerns while Old Bones is a historical romance. I think histfic fans will find all three to be satisfyingly rich and articulately expressed. Best of all, the first two are free today and latter is on special offer at just 99c / 77p.

As we're featuring three books today instead of the usual one, we've asked Ian to give us his 'one line' synopsis for each.

To the End of The Trail (Free)
Fifty year historical fiction saga focussing on what women who settled the West did rather than 'real' men who 'did what they had to do' through divisions, dramas and a period of national tumult: slavery, jealousy, the Pawnee betrayed, romance, crime and retribution.

Henry and Isaac (Free)

The relationship between an eminent judge and successful bank robber arising from an imagined meeting. How each becomes the other's nemesis through courtroom confrontation and a shared inability to shrug off their pasts.

Old Bones (99c)
Polish Jews and Irish immigrants struggle for identity alongside native Londoners in the East End of the first half of the twentieth century. Personal and political rivalries, roguery and romance are the prelude to the Battle of Cable Street and crime follows in its wake.
